Alright, after long hours of gaming, my hand has started to ache. Would a gaming mouse help this? I don't need Dual lasers, 5600 dpi, or custom leds, just something ergonomic. What mouse would best suit my needs? I was thinking about the MX518

Really you will need to find one that fits you. if all you are worried about is comfort than you will probably end up trying several before you find one you really like.
edit: what exactly is uncomfortable about the one you have?

That really depends, for some people a gaming mouse is really comfortable, and others cant play 2 minutes with one without their hand falling off. The only good way to know if one is good for you is to try one out.

I have an MX-518; I use it for office and gaming.

I concur, the numbero priority for any mice is comfort. For gaming mice, the MX518, G5v2, and the Razer Death-Adder would be good choices. To me the Death-Adder design and shape is pretty comfortable basing off my usage on the Razer Mamba.

You should find a
Bestbuy Microcenter PC World ETC ETC ETC And try out all of the mouses they have on display...that way you won't end up getting a mouse no better than the one you have atm

Wait for something to go on sale. Gaming mice are overpriced, and they will usually go on sale for up to 50% off!
I got both my DeathAdder and G5 for $40, when they retail for $80 up here. I would highly recommend the G5 btw. In terms of tracking and extra buttons all gaming mice are basically the same, but I put the G5 above others because it feels like its gliding on a cushion of air.

I have a stock POS logitech mouse. I need a high-arched mouse to be comfortable, so a deathadder is out of the picture.

I have a hand on my DeathAdder right now, and the arch is pretty decent...any higher and I think any mouse would start to look like a mountain. IIRC, the DA has a higher mid-peak than the Mx518.
