Default Problem with mouse or in-game settings??!

I cannot seem to figure out if the problem with my mouse is due to in-game settings or the mouse itself. I use the Razer Death Adder. The game is WorldofWarcraft. In-game i use the right click of the mouse to strafe left and right.

Now for some reason it feels like the mouse doesnt grasp the screen sometimes when i click it. I will for instance click a spot to strafe and it will skip a section of the screen before it grasps on making it very hard to do arena's (WoW Player vs. Player combat) with.

Usually it is very smooth and most of the time when i strafe it just doesn't feel normal (don't know how to describe it). Any Insight anyone has would be very beneficial. Thanks!

Some slower CPUs can have a hard time with the button presses of the DeathAdder and thus there can be a small delay from when you press the button to the actual action occurs. The Razer driver has three processes running

Razerhid.exe - This is the actual driver (the one to set to high)
Razerofa.exe - This is the on-the-fly-sensitivity manager
Razertra.exe - This is just the windows tray object

To solve this do the following

1. On the windows desktop: Press ctrl + alt + del
2. Go to the pane "processes"
3. Locate "razerhid.exe"
4. Right click and select "Set priority" and choose "High" or "Realtime" (Note that if you have a slow CPU realtime is NOT advised)

But what if I want this to happen every time i start windows?
You can have windows do this on the startup of the system

First we do this to remove any current autostart entries from the DeathAdder drivers
1. Go to Start > Run > msconfig and press Enter
2. Go to the pane "Startup" and uncheck any instances of "razerhid.exe"
* MAKE SURE YOU ONLY UNCHECK RAZERHID.EXE ENTRIES, OTHERWISE YOU MAY *censored* UP VITAL PROCESSES TO OTHER PROGRAMS

Next step is

1. Go to the directory Cocuments and Settings%USERNAME%Start MenuProgramsStartup

%USERNAME% = The current windows users name (eg. Cocuments and SettingsJohn DoeStart MenuProgramsStartup) if the users name is "John Doe"

2. Create a .bat extension file (you can make a new .txt file and rename the extension to .bat)
3. Type in the following

start "Razer Driver" /high /b "c:Program FilesRazerDeathAdderrazerhid.exe"

In this case we start it with high prority (/high) other options are /low, /normal, /above normal and /realtime
/b makes sure we dont create cmd.exe popups
The directory in the "" is where you installed the DeathAdder drivers

4. Save the file

Now your DeathAdder will run at windows startup with high priority (or which ever priority you assigned)
this is all I can find.

I don't know WoW, but..

The R button on my DA failed, it would sometimes double click if moved... I heard it's not unusual for the DA.

If you have the same issue you should be able to reproduce it like this:

1. Go to the Windows desktop
2. R-click and hold
3. Drag the mouse to another spot, while still holding the button, so as to "draw a rectangle"
4. Release the button

Now if the context menu ("Arrange icons...") pops up at the location you first clicked the button then it's ok.
If the context menu pops up at the location where you released the button then it's a bug.

Repeat these steps 30 times, to make sure. (Sometimes this bug won't happen for a long time.)

i had the same problem with a krait a few months ago. Most likely it is a hardware problem but you can try other usb ports or another pc. The problem with my krait was when i hold the left mouse button, sometimes it would skip something, so what i did was i opened up ms paint, then i hold the LMB and drew some circles. I noticed that some circles have missing parts but I know for sure that i did not let go of the LMB. That is when i found out that the mouse was defective.

I tried the test with dragging the mouse, it seems as though the mouse will sort of "un-click" itself from the point i originally started from and click at a spot near my ending point or halfway through my entire blue box.

I guess its the mouse failing?? I dunno.

Anyone had any problems like this with windows 7, though i don't know if that would even correlate with the problem.

Mine was worse, it looks like this.

I can definitely tell it is a hardware problem, well in my case. I tried it with Ubuntu, same thing. Tried it with my cousin's laptop which is running ubuntu and vista, same thing. I dumped my krait right away because I mainly play FPS so there were a lot of instances when i should have killed the enemy but my mouse won't fire. Now I am using an MX518 and I really love this mouse.

How old is your mouse anyway? mine did not last more than 6 months.

Yeah. so I guess my mouse is done for thing is i freaking love the feel and movement of this thing....might just have to get another DeathAdder......

Unless anyone knows a comparable mouse of comfort with a decent amount of buttons on the sides....I play competitively in Arena's and need at least 2

I am not sure if you will like the mx518 but I suggest that you go to a shop first that sells those and try it for yourself. It has more buttons compared to your deathadder but, you must judge the feel of the mouse first.

You can also contact Razer for a warranty, I am pretty sure they will suggest the same thing;

1. use another usb port
2. use another OS
3. use razer or windows drivers
4. try it on another computer

just give it a shot.
