Default Microsoft Sidewinder X6 Keyboard driving me up the wall

Alright, i recently ordered the Microsoft Sidewinder X6 Gaming Keyboard, and now i really wish i hadn't.

The CD that came with the keyboard wont work on my pc, i get an error message saying "the programm was blocked due to compatability issues", so i decided to download the latest drivers instead.

I have tried downloading Microsoft Intelitype 6.3, 7.0 and 7.1 Beta and each installation gives me the same error message:

"setup could not install a required component: Miicrosoft Error Reporting. restart and try again (Error Code:1603)"

The keyboard works, so does the numpad, and the backlight knob also works, but the volume knob, media keys, calc button and macro keys don't.

Does anybody know what i can do to get this keyboard to function properly? As far as im aware all i need to do is to be able to install Intelitype, but nothing is working for me.

OS: Windows 7 64-Bit (Build:7600)

Try this driver:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

It worked for me, but I have Windows 7 34-bit though. Try it.

Omg, you totally misunderstood. The only problem here is the driver version, and the compatibility with Windows 7, and the link I provided contains software for Windows 7.
