Default Wireless mouse with small dongle

No, not that kind of "dongle" you sickos!

I need to get a new wireless mouse. Some of the Microsoft mice I've used have a very large USB dongle with a ~18" cable - I don't want that. I want a regular mouse with a dongle that's like the little ones found on notebook mice.

Pictures usually just show the mouse - not the dongle, so it's hard to tell on manufacturer websites.

I prefer Microsoft mice, but am open to other suggestions.

The Microsoft Arc has a tiny dongle. It's unorthodox in shape and design, made for portability. From reading your post it seems you're not going to be using this with a laptop. I wouldn't want the Arc for everyday desktop use.

If you already have a BlueTooth mouse... you can buy a mini-BT dongle for a few dollars. You just have to pair them.

To answer most of your questions: (1) a fridge cannot cool a PC (2) 64-bit OS for over 3.4GB (3) If a PCIe card fits, it should work (4) Resolution, not screen size (5) If you have a question, it is not news (6) Report, not respond to Spam (7) Single-Rail/Non-Modular PSUs are not always better than Multi-Rail/Modular (8) Sequential does not matter as much as random for OS drives

Logitech Anywhere MX, or Nano VX

I picked the Anywhere MX over the Nano because I preferred the back/forward button placement of the Anywhere. All Logitech Nano mice share the same ridiculously small receiver. The Anywhere also has darkfield tracking which works on even the smoothest glass surfaces.

Duckie's right about the BT dongles too; you can find some that barely hang out from the USB port.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm looking for a desktop mouse, though. And I already have the Microsoft Arc Mouse for portable use - it's an excellent mouse!

That's a good idea. I don't have a BT mouse, but it's worth looking into. Plus, it will likely have better range too.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check that out too.

A friend of mine also mentioned the MX650. After seeing the replies here, it seems that Logitech has little receivers whereas Microsoft uses the big honkin' things.
