Between the G5 or the MX518, I own both. I would choose the MX518 hands down. More accurate, feels better in your hand and is way more comfortable.

MX518 is smaller (I have small hands, therefore love it) and is lighter. You can set 3 quick DPI settings to anythign between 800 and 1600 I believe.

I like my MX518. The G5 is good too, but it depends on the user of course.

Why bump this? The problems of the G5 posted in this thread aren't even in existence anymore because of the new revision.

G5 get my vote, it was a strange feeling first but it's better than the MX518.
Both are splendid though.

Yeeeeaaaah, why the bump? :\

And I have a G5 (the old one with the kind of rusty metal look), and I don't think it has a crappy wheel. I would prefer the wheel to be a bit more quiet though. When I scroll quickly, it's rather loud for a mouse wheel.
