I agree with Z. TEAC is a great brand, and they have been around forever. My DOS machine actually has either a 24x or 32x TEAC CD-ROM in it. I like BenQ a lot as well. I have one of their DVD burners and it is very quiet. Only thing I don't like about is that it doesn't like all install discs.
