Default Floppy Drive Problem..

Ok well i wanna do a BIOS update but my floppy is not working. Ok lets clear some things up right now,

yes its hooked up right.
No the light isnt constantly on nor off.
light lights up when trying to read
Tried 2 different floppy drives
they both work on another comp
tried numerous floppys

Everytime i go to access a floppy i get an error "disc in drive not formatted"

then when i try to format "not formatable"

This is really frustrating lol

In your bios there should be an option to disable ide master and slave devices. Enable it and see if it works.

When was the last time you used the floppy on that mobo? Could it be the cable or the controller?

Your floppy drive might just be dead. Cheap ones just break during transport(Can't carry the computer in the car without the FDD to break) for fun.

The problem's here... Have you tried to format from an other computer?
And are all of your floppies the same brand?
