This is dumb question but is there a differance in geting the CD-ROM version of a game or the DVD-ROM. Will one run faster than the other leading to better performace?

CD holds a maximum of about 650MB, while DVD holds 4.5GB single layer and 9GB dual layer. So DVD has a much higher capacity.

The only diferance is the distrabution method, CDs or DVDs. Most new games take up more space then can fit on one CD, so they have disk 1, disk 2, disk 3, etc. DVDs hold much more then CDs, so you can fit the entire game onto a DVD most of the time. It makes the instalation easyer. As for speed, once the game is installed it runs off the hard drive, not the optical drive, so it doesnt make a diferance. It only checks to make sure the disk is in the drive before loading the game.
