I'm trying to use sketchup to model a l-shaped desk I want to build, but it keeps coming out all screwy and such. Anyone got any tips on how to start modeling a l-shaped desk in sketchup?

Hi.
![]() Have you tried the tutorials Apologies, I am not trying to be lazy, but this sort of thing may be easier and more efficient to learn using the multitude of tutorials that are available.

I'll just give up. It's confusing. I do what they say to create something and it looks all weird when I move around to see it

Hmmm... odd your having trouble with it. That was by far the easiest 3d modeling app to catch on to that I've ever used.

You use it very carefully!
![]() There is not a more simple 3d application out there....sit down and let your mind wrap around the concept of 3d space, and it will come to you...

Here's what I got so far...I can't for the love of god get the last few legs shaped right -_-. It's pretty obvious where I'm screwing up at, so idk

Lol, it'd be much too difficult to try to explain how to do it on the forums. But for complicated models, I typically just use straight up lines to build all the edges of a 3D object, rather than using the built-in cubes and such.

Any luck, Bryce?
Fwiw, I have a heck of a time with Sketchup as well. As SgtSpike does, I keep it simple by using straight lines, build a 2D box, and then go 3D by pulling it out to the depth that I want.
