Sound proof my room!
My parents sleep really lightly and can hear me typing and clicking my mouse at night, so i need a cheap way to sound proof my room.
 Brain storm pleaseim thinking of egg cartons?

If you have a boxfan, you can try that. Some people find it easier if they have a constant unchanging sound that is low and soft to fall asleep too. I know if I did not hear the drone of the air conditioner or my ceiling fan at night, I'd never get to sleep.

earplugs dont really work cause i have to talk into my headset. Ive looked at sound dampening material its kind of expensive.....Do you think having a couple of pieces of sound absorbing material would catch the sound and make it a little quieter? I just read on a separate forum that egg cartons don't work.

they are actually down the hall about three rooms down between us. I thought about my basement but there are ducts that the sound travels up easily (tested during day time). Alright so the cartons are out. i don't think my parents would appreciate the look either.
