Default I need help soundproofing from outside sounds...

I need some help soundproofing my room from outside sounds. I'm over the garage and that blasted door is broken and will literally open 4-5 times when you press the button once. I constantly hear stuff from outside (lawn mower, etc). So, how can I soundproof my room? I don't have a lot of cash but am willing to do something that isn't drastic and ugly to keep sounds out.

Sounds expensive. And you wold have to take out the drywall in your room to get the soundproofing in.

do you have double glazing? look into tripple glazing.

if you have a caity wall (a wall that has a gap with insulation) then add more insulation to it. you can get sound proofing insualtion but you might have to increase your cavity by about 25mm.

im a construction student and i can say that sound proofing is expensive and requires complete refurbishment of a room.

It depends on where the sound is coming from. If it's from the windows, you can add another window pane using acrylic. use some foam and some window clips to hold it in and I think Home Depot can cut the acrylic. If it's the walls/floor, there is no cheap or easy solution. Buy some head phones maybe.
