Default College Dorm Room

I got my hands on some measurements for my sophomore dorm room so I figured I'd try to plan this out the right way. You see I've recently acquired my father's college audio system and after hooking it up and listening to it, I've decided that it is absolutely worthwhile to have it this coming fall semester. Also included in this little operation is a 32" Samsung LCD HDTV, along with an Xbox 360 and a 13.3" MacBook that need to fit in this room.

For those of you who care to know:
  • Turntable - Kenwood KD-3070 [5.25"x15"x10.25"]
  • Amp - Kenwood KA-5700 [5.25"x15"x10.25"]
  • Speakers - ADS L260 [25.75"x14.25"x12"]
  • TV - Samsung LN32A33OJ - [34.25"x22.25"x11.5"]

Just to clarify, that stand isn't coming with me. I was trying to see if I could somehow get that all either on or close to my desk somehow. But if I need a stand I'll shell out of the money for one.

  • Room - 16'x11'-4"
  • Bed - 81"x36"x38"
  • Desk - 48"x30"x24"
Just a overview of how the room will look. The measurements for the bed and desk are as if you were looking at it from the front with it up against the wall.

Here is a "virtual tour" of the room so you all can have a better idea of what we're dealing with.

Any ideas on how to accomplish this little endeavor?

Go vertical! Get some 2x4's and make some shelves.

that total width of it all looks to be larger than 4 feet. How tall are the closets? If there is space on top the speakers could up there and the rest infront of the window. Oh ya, get there early so you can get the bed with the wall at the head, I just have having my pillows fall off.

Believe me, I just might. Working in a drywall warehouse has it's benefits.

The easiest thing to do is get an apartment, like me! Then you can do whatever the hell you want lol

On a serious note, If you can fix the desk ( not sure if it's yours or the schools ) then you could make it sturdy enough to put the system on top...the shelf thing attached to the desk if you know what I mean. OR you could stack them up between the bed and the desk.

Put one of the desks between the closets by the window and you have more space. you can move the bed further from the wall to the where the desk was. Put your equipment there against the wall and your bed could be used as a sofa.

This is a good idea, I just hope that the desk fits in-between that space.

Are those beds stuck there, or can you loft them and stick the desks underneath?

No you can move the beds around and I'm sure you can loft them. I thought about doing that but if the roommate doesn't approve I'm kind of SOL you know.
