I have an office in my basement, and I build about three systems a month for clients. It takes me about a week from start to finish, just because I am so anal about wire management and sleeving all bare wires... By the time OC stress tests are complete, it's a good week spent, couple hours a day.
I bought couple of foldable 8" tables from Sam's, and I noticed that it was difficult to work on top of it, since I run out of space very quickly... Also, it was difficult to reach around the back of the case, since I would have to turn the case... I came up with this solution... My only regret is not thinking of this sooner! It's the kind of carts that mechanics use from cars to cars, which holds all their tools and such. The surface area is perfect for any kind of case, and it allows me to store the commonly used tools on the middle shelf, while stacking all the case parts on the bottom. I lined the shelves with soft padding as well, to eliminate any chance of scratching and such. It also keeps my tools from rolling round and making a racket. My "parts" bin was bought from Office Depot, and it's just a dinky little sliding shelving solution. It keeps all my tools organized, and easy to find. The "parts" shelving in the back, along with a lot of plastic bins keep my parts organized and easily findable. I was so used to my office being so messy, from each build, but now, I have a system which keeps me organized and ready to go. On the table in the back, I have a small 17" LCD monitor with KB/MICE, LAN, hookups ready to go, so that I can test the systems I build.

I got mine at Harbor Freight Tools... It was really cheap ($50 or so)...
