Default Printer Suggestions?

Looking to replace an old Deskjet right now but I'd like to get a printer that I could easily buy refills for the cartridges.

Some printers I've read have issues when you refill their cartridges and require a separate cartridge to alternate in order to bypass the refill check because the companies want you to buy entirely new cartridges as replacements.

Stand-Alone printers or all in one printers doesn't matter much.

I have found epson printers to be rather effortless ... you can buy noname cartridges or u can buy the authentic ones. Separate cartridges for each color.

However, I often buy whole printers. As printers can sometimes be cheaper than buying cartridges. Printer comes with ink and then u always have a replacement.

Why not just get a laser printer? It is going to cost more up front, but over time, the life of the toner will make up for having to buy or refill ink cartridges. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16828112110

I also recommend a laser printer and agree with ^. I don't need a color printer since most of my printing needs is college related (e.g. tons of papers) so I am using http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16828113304 here at home. I would recommend that printer wholeheartedly.

Yeah if you don't need a color printer, the cost savings of a monochrome laser are phenomenal compared to a deskjet with a high workload.
