Default Freezer system in place of WC

Has anyone actually tried to used an older freezer pump and radiator system in place of a water cooling? I'm asking this because my cousin has an old freezer the size of a mini fridge that still works. I'm wondring if its actually possible to run the tubing into your computer and back to the pump, exactly how you would with a WC system. The pipes running through the computer should also pick up heat, cooling down the system even more. IMO using this system on your CPU and GPU coupled with air good ventilation should bring down the temps inside your case and main components drastically. What do you guys think?

Fridges don't work for cooling a computer. They will break with constant use. If you can find an old window AC that will do.

Not cooling. I meant instead of running the Pipes through the freezer to cool off the freezer, could you attach a heat transfer pad to the pipe and attach that to the cpu/gpu to cool it off. I'm not crazy enough to put my electronics into a fridge.

ahhhh why cant people stop asking this question
short answer
no
wont work
fridges arent designed to suck huge amounts of heat all the time

however check this thread for a easy way of getting below ambient temps and it doesnt cost anything

http://www.overclock.net/water-cooli...direction.html

page 2 gives more details about temps

You basically just described a phase change unit. Those are different though, but use the same concept you are talking about, just more powerful and more suited for computer use. They use mainly air conditioner parts, not fridge parts.

He did not say fridges he said freezer and i do think freezers. And yes it will work what you do is drill wholes in the side of it for the tube going in and one going out thin silicone around the wholes and mount your rad in there go to the hardware store and get some anti-freeze like for a car and mix it 50/50 thin you need some pipe insalation you can get at any hardware store and insalate the tubes real good so no air can get to them at all. thin get some of that foam that comes in a spray can..you can get at the hardware store to its to fill in cracks in your house. and spay it around the CPU socket till you cover the block and around it where no air will hit anything that has the water in it and thin glue you some plastic over the foam and that should do it. If you seal off your tubing wholes in your freezer it will not have to run all the time. if you can get the freezer for nothing thin all the stuff will only add up to like 30 bucks

Are you just talking about the case or are you going to cool the cpu/gpu directly? Because the freezer compressor is going to have some chemical in it that you probably can't easily use on say, a WB. Either way you go you are probably going to have to deal with water condensation, hence what Allen said about coating everything. And freezers are the same as fridges, they assume that no new heat is being brought in all the time. But I must admit I've never seen it done successfully or unsuccessfully, so you can try and see if you want. But people have definitely been successful with ac units.

What out with the freezer and its special coolant the stuff can hurt you real bad man, so if you do do it get some special gloves just in case.
