Actually, mineral water by itself is highly conductive because of the minerals. Minerals and especially dissolved salts tend to ionize the water making it more conductive. I believe distilled water has barely any if at all conductivity. But yea particulates will just make it more conductive.

We're actually talking about mineral oil now. We were originally talking about mineral "water" however water w/ any ions whatsoever will conduct, which is bad.

Several websites have experimented w/ full-contact oil cooling, including one of my favorites, Tomshardware.com. I thought it was a great idea that needed a little modification to make practical considering food-based oils will go rancid eventually.

Just submerge the system in a fish tank and build a chiller that'll chill the oil down and seal the tank. Zero condensation issues, zero contact issues, if anything you'll run into issues of the oil thickening due to the cold but that can sort of be solved with a very low viscosity oil.

Mineral water = BAD.
Pure water = ok. (You will never be able to keep it pure though.)

I remember seeing them try purified types of water time after time they could never get pure non conductive solutions they had times were it did actually run in the water solution for a few hours. What you want to do if your really going to do this is baby oil (its clear wont cake up after a long time) You can run you computer in that stuff for ALONG TIME its not to good for actually overclocking all it does is spread the heat out then slowly it dissapates if you could find a way to quickly dissapate the heat it would be a much better soluting like heat pipes and a heatercore fixed to some fans outside of the tank

using mineral oil in a wc system might work well...
if it leaks, the pc is just oily, and can be fixed and cleaned...
the loop and be longer cause the oil stores more heat than water...
pumps will have to be different, and a bigger radiator would help a lot...
in that vid of the submerged pc, they add a radiator and pump and it cools that machine really well...

What do you mean by oil stores more heat than water? If you are talking about heat capacity -- then no -- water has a higher heat capacity. It has one of the highest specific heat values.

You would kill your freezer. It isn't meant to hold a constant load, it cycles on and off and is designed to do just that. It was meant to cool down food, which typically doesn't emit anything besides residual heat, unless of course you like to store live animals in your fridge *shrug* You are better off designing a full fledged chiller as that'll keep you from butchering/killing a fridge and net you better performance.
