Default Removed PCI plate a good idea?

I have this odd airflow problem in my case at the moment. I have no idea why, but, when I remove the PCI Slot cover above my top video card, it runs (not kidding here either) 10 degrees cooler than when that cover is on. Do you think it's a good idea to leave this place removed for issues such as dust contamination?

Is there some sort of filter plate that I can use to cover the holes I have in the case now? Its basically like this now

You probably want something like this then, http://silverstonetek.com/products/p...slots&area=usa. I'm not sure where you can buy it. I'll do a search right now and If I can find them I'll post a link.

Found them here: http://www.sundialmicro.com/silverst...2049_1265.html, I don't know how good that store is. I'm going to contact silverstone tomorrow because I'm interested in these as well.

I wouldn't even bother with those. I've never heard of anyone suffering from too much EMI emission because they had open slots. I would say if it runs that much cooler just leave them off and clean the inside if theres dust buildup.

Well, its significantly better without the plates on the back (odd). It does ruin the aesthetics of the thing, but I can't exactly see the gaps back there

Just to give you an idication.
GPU 1 Idled at 65degrees
GPU 2 Idled at 56degrees (both were at 30% fan)

Now

54 and 50 Respectively.
Weird if you ask me, but at least it works!

don't bother w/ ventilated covers. If you want to leave it open, just leave it open, your case fans will suck in a hell of a lot more dust then any amount that can possibly drift in thru an open PCI slot.
