Default My First Case Fan Mod

Well I've decided I would try and come up with some cool ideas for cooling besides H2O...
Remember back when you had an AMD Duron 1200 or for you Intel users a ****ty Pentium 3? Well I found my old heat sink and fan (Thermaltake) from that build and I wanted to do something cool because I was bored, my parents were angry at me, I don't have any friends and I just felt like being unsocial.

Who still uses their floppy drive? Well I don't so I decided to turn mine into a air intake. Ok so bye bye to floppy drive...

Next I figured a way of mounting on some brackets right where the floppy drive used to be so I can use the gap for sucking cooler air in.

Wee bit dusty... I'll take care of that...

I already had cut a whole and made an exhaust fan in the side panel... Here it is..

What do you think? Good idea or I'm just being an idiot?

Looks good for the inner one, good idea.

But you can make the exhausting fan on the side panel better, could clean it up a bit, if you know what I mean.

Um....I just would have used....I dunno...the big slot for a bigger fan right directly under where you mounted the tiny one......IMO you will not push/pull any amount of air with that fan to make a 1C drop.

Dude that Thermaltake spins at close to 5000RPMs and pushes a lot of air.

Meh I don't really care how much noise my pc's make as long as they don't sound like a 747 is taking off under your desk...

blankthis Ive been building pcs for over 7years I would dare say that Blue devil is correct on both counts mostly on the sound. Currently I have one fan running full speed and it driving me nuts(case closed)... The only reason i haven't fixed it is because I'm to darn cheap to buy a fan controller.....

Hey if he doesn't mind the noise, he could make a case out of fans and even then we shouldn't care!

5000rpm with an 80mm though...wow! I bet that makes more noise than my 6x120mm and 1x200mm setup!
