There's a heated pool outside, kept between 70F-90F. How can I take advantage of the water in the pool/filter system/pipes for a WC loop. Obviously this would be a huge project, but mostly manual work rather than bank work, hopefully.

Not that big a project at all. Just drop your rad in there in front of one of the jets and you are set =)

The pool is about 20 metres away from the PC, lol. And I guess by drop you mean screw it into the sides...

Wouldn't suggest it... the water is either chlorinated or not very clean... you'll either end up corroding your loop or killing it with organic compounds...
The only real benefit to having that much of a reservoir at your disposal would be if you had no radiator and were relying entirely on sheer volume of the liquid for heat dissipation

Google it, I recall a guy doing this for a while, seemed to be fine after 6 months.
Here's the link Seems like quite a project, definitely something that would be cool to do.

If it's a heated pool that stays at 70F+ I really don't see the benefit seeing as the ambients in your house are probably that much.

Yes, but that's only for about 2-3 months. Then it's 10 months of winter lol. Oh yeah, I forgot about winter....Ice is only on top I think, about 10cm...

You would still need to insulate your motherboard, waterblock(s) and the tubing that hangs over the motherboard. (No need to insulate the tubing that is away from the computer)
