Default HEATSINKS vs IRON ¬56K¬

***MADE FOR THE OCN CHAT REGULARS***

Get in son.

This iron is going down

It will be tough

Mum's iron is insane

IRON SPECS

Tefal Virtuose 2400w 'Superglide'

2400W! Holy Moly!

HOT LIKE A CHILLI!

Setting: Linen [Highest]

THE HEATSINKS

Zalman 9700NT
De-fanned Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro
Stock AMD X2 4400+ Cooler [Also defanned]
Hench Aluminium retro desk fan on Max setting

Picture time!

Oh

I put it on a dartboard, i think it looks cool

^.^

Enjoy!

The iron...

The heatsinks...

The beautiful fan...

Start loadin em up!

On goes the AC7 Pro...

Its like a miniature heatsink freak iron train...

Fan at the ready

Lets get roastin n' toastin!

Hmm! Wierd much? My mum was like 'Umm...What are you doing?'

NOTHING MUM, I MUST WIN! THE IRON MUST NEVER HEAT UP BWA HA HA HA

Shinyness

This experiment failed harsh.

For the following reasons...

I burnt like 2 of my fingers, the cause?

'Oooh, i wonder if the edges are hot'

It was hot =(

Other reasons why this experiment failed...

Lack of TIM - I didn't put any on, mum would of slayed me...
CPU's put out like 200W, not 2400w! 3 CPU Heatsinks didn't stand a chance against the iron on its fierce, no remorse 'Linen' setting

I should of started off with the more caring, forgiving 'Silk' setting, and progressively worked my way up through wool and cotton before challenging the upper heights of the 'linen' setting

The fan could of been bigger, there were a few dead spots, although lets be honest - the iron was going to beat them instantly anyway, the linen setting is ruthless

Oh

CPU Heatsinks arent really designed to me stuck on Irons...Its almost like theres no use for them to be placed on one...shame.

Thanks for reading through

^^

Hope you appreciated it

Comments / Feedback / Rewards [Burnt kit please...] welcomed

Fix.

Aliminum melts at 660 C / 1220 F
Copper melts at 1084 C / 1983 F
Regular Carbon Steel melts at 1425 - 1540 C / 2600 - 2800 F

I doubt the iron gets hot enough to melt aluminum, but this should be fun
