About 6 months ago, I created a dual 120mm fan window insert. I had a wooden sliding door to cover up the fans and it worked great. My PC generates a lot of heat and I needed to get rid of it.
![]() ![]() Then I was bored at work and thought up an idea to get some tubes and make an acrylic casing from my extra Plexiglas. Here is what I came up with. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Now that is ingenuity. How is it working for you? Are your ambient temps down??
Throw some white paint on there and I think it will blend in a bit better. Nice work! Can we see a pic of how you have it attached in the rear of the case??

Ambient temps are a lot better. I plan on painting it sooner or later.

The second picture is that picture. I simply put the end of the tube in there and screwed the fan down tight. So, it's held in place by the case and fan.

You should try reading my thread and not just look at the pictures. If you READ, you will understand that the sliding panel was there before I took it off to install the Plexiglas box.

unable 2 fold effectively

it is a good idea indeed, i've been thinking of the same thing since all my machines seem to put out a lot of heat.
one thing that concerns me about what you did, is that you didn't make it out of pressure treated wood, or even some kind of weather barrier like tyvek or something, what are you going to do if it rains, or gets wet.

Well, considering, I've been using that fan system for 6 months now, nothing has happened to the wood. The fans work in the rain too. I will be painting it soon.
