My classmates and I built a pentium 4 and submerged it:
Temps were around 29C and went as high as 47C. It was $10,000 worth of silicon but we got it for free cuz we rock. we did this last december. ALSO we had redhat 8 on it.

Very nice.
How long did you monitor temps for after fully submerged? Best part is when the fan goes under. Cheers.

Ha! Lol, good one.
We monitored temps for a week and then we just left it alone, it's still at school, in the tech lab, in the display window, it runs basically all during school hours. I am sure it is off since it is summer...since may 30th XD If we left it on for more than a week it would probably start to overheat, since it just kept climbing. we concealed the hard drive in the top of the fish tank, where the lamp would go. it worked out. Mr. Imboden did most of the work, while we just watched and helped where we could. it took lots of dremeling, some soldering, and drilling, and gluing.

Do you still have that rig kicking around? And if so, have those fan bearings blown yet?

you should have removed the fan and pumped the liquid through a rad with 120 fans on the rad then it wouldn't overheat.

We didn't pay a cent for the silicon, it was provided by another student's father's company.
And the machine works just fine still, it's been about 3/4 of a year so far.
