And were those tanks at 2000 psi?

ok so 2K would most certinly crush them what about 50psi? thats no that much but still give air 10 times the thermal capacity.

i love the experimental thread but it seems like people have run out of ideas. there are only so many times you can use a box fan as a case cover. open up your mind. i want to see more ridiculous ideas on here.

1500psi is over 100 times. See where im going with this?

Given that it wouldn't be worth the effort of expense to have a constant freh supply of 1500psi air @ 20F running though the case over a regular air cooler. Im thinking more along the lines of a silent setup. the setup would function similar to an oil filled case without all the mess. after all supports are welded on and case is sealed the case could be pressurized through a valve.

what do u think? anyone case to try it?
I think you should hire a mechanical engineer to sign off and check over your designs if you decide to proceed. Dont expect it to be expensive, i would expect something like this to be about 4hrs work (to revise drawings calcs etc.).

The main problem I see is that a case is never a airtight box. You always have weak spots, such as connectors, and not to mention video card exhausts...

to be honest with you im not 100% sure what the lox was at. it uses several chambers to maintain pressure due to the constant warming of the tanks. ive regularly heard 3K, 5K and even 10k. the regular gas o2 tanks are full at 2000psi weather they are aluminum or steel.

I'm not sure how you want to maintain airflow in the said case. Thermal transfer capacity is no good if the heat isn't going anywhere.

& ive considered that, yes that would be a problem but theres allways a way around that. even if it came down to re-soldering all the connectors (dvi, usb RJ-45) it wouldnt really be that big of a deal. ive designed/welded up 4 aluminum & 2 steel tanks that were used at 400psi.

i feel like im beating a dead fish. we've allready established taht 2K with crush the cpu. who knows, 50 may very well do the same. but 50-ish is easy to work with and could simply be done with a compressor.

actual pressure aside, what would be the best way to transfer heat from the inside of the case to the case?

yep, may just be easier to run heatpipes from the cpu to the side of the case where there is a nice heat sink on the outside
