I agree, but there is barely enough negative pressure for even 3-5 cfm of air to pass through there...

The four notches and two screws around the grill are mounts for an 80mm fan. I have one in mine (sorry, no pics ATM). Not sure how much benefit it has (no with vs. without tests), but it certainly can't hurt cooling.

I'm not going to comment on the IFX-10 effectiveness.
__________________I think it has been marginalized suitably by that article. But to answer your question directly. YES, they can be effective in adding cooling. If you have that extra 30$, do as the article says, and try to get a better CPU HSF, but when one reaches the pinnacle of air cooling for the CPU, I'd say this becomes the option. I've seen the same done to graphics cards. Back in the day My friends used to do it with the older cards. But its too bad, back then, the thermal tape that they used to do it - I never had access to. The cards were always cooler to the touch under load after adding some small sinks to their backs. Here's an interesting fact: It is said that motherboards dissipate the most heat from their backsides

There is no question that it would add added heat removal.
__________________The only question I suppose is whether or not this particular thirdparty cooler is worth the money. I WOULD PERSONALLY JUST MAKE ONE. Seeing as how it fairly simple. The question of worth is up to the others. I dont think it is - but for the ease, I'd buy it.
