Dell workstation F3543 heatsink. Its quite small, but I expect it to cool a C2D better than the plain stock I have at the moment. I'm gonna test on my P4 coz when upped to 4ghz it could cook a side of lamb.
If it deals with that, then a C2D will be no problem. Its gonna be a while though, I still have some parts waiting to be sorted that I can afford until I sell off my old bits. Being sold to mate = Soundblaster Live/P4/775Xfire VSTA/Stock cooler. Already have = Conroe Xfire eSATAII/4Gb DDR2 PC2-6400/Case/HDD's/DVD drive. Need to get = a cheap C2D/HD4670/2x80mm fans.

I would also recommend a push/pull fan config, nice to see such great HS modding ideas!
By the way, which type of fan are you planning to use?

I was thinking 2x80mm, but depending on how wide it is exactly, I might put a similar sized fan on the front to push, and a bigger one on the back to pull, if only to drag more air in through the sides (would like a bit to pull heat off the northbridge HS I've already modded)...
![]() ^sort of like that, I spread the fins apart to allow better air flow.

Its here, and its bigger than I thought.
![]() Can't see well in the pic, but the base is huge, I'm gonna kill my arm sawing through that lol

Yeah his logic is fubar'd. Theres more copper in a Mars bar than my stock HS lol This Dell thingy weighs a tonne and is mostly pure copper, the edge of the base is aluminium though.
I put it on the mobo earlier to see where I have to cut it, and it sort of fits perfect one way (with the heatpipes in line with the IO and RAM but I want it rotated 90* so when I put the fans on they can push pull towards the IO vent, but then I have two capacitors in the way so I might get away with only nipping off the corners (of which all four sit perfectly over the holes of the stock shaped HS's). So I can put it on the way I want and lose the corners and will have to make a clamp. Or put it on the way I don't want too bt only have to drill holes in the corners for screws. Pics when I find new batteries.

Cameras a no go
phtoshop'd will do.![]() Easiest way is to just drill some holes and bolt it on (pic no.1), but the pipes won't get all the air they could. See what I mean, if I want the pipes blown over I have to mount it like in no.2 with the ends sawn off and a clamp/bracket.
