Default Water Fountain chiller... Free from work :)

Got a water chiller that was made to handle 2 water fountains.

Any ways got the water pumping out of a fishtank ( 5 gal ) getting cooled. then back into the tank... temp in the tank with the cooler stat on the hottest setting to keep it from being on alot is 50 F (10 C )

The chiller is only on for about 2 minutes every 15 minutes or so...

The system has a tank built into it so its got alot of water to help keep it cool

Next step is to drop my Dual 120mm black ice radiator into it see what temps i can pull

Post pics in the morning... cant find the camera and im tired

why not just pump the chilled water directly into your loop?

also i'd suggest putting the compressor on a pressure switch instead of the thermal one it comes stock with or you'll blow it out right fast.

adding the rad would be pointless IMO. i think you should just hook it strait up to your loop.

It could help.

If you did something like this:
CPU->pump->radiator - > chiller -> back to CPU

It would cool the water before hitting the chiller, and lower the water temp (for the chiller to possibly lower even more).

Would you mind posting pics of the setup and chiller?

Both terrible ideas.
You don't only use the water cooler to cool your loop because it can't handle that kind of stress.

Use a rad to cool the water before it enters the chilled reservoir as originally planned.

haha i went with kinda both ideas now, the chiller had a little tank on it for the drinking water... long story later and lots of hair pulled out i just went with rapping the 1/2 tubing inside the tank.... ill post pics tomorrow sry about no pics .... every time i get on i forget and its already 230....

But yeah im going to run this crazy thing on the cool side of the rad right before the cpu,

so it gets pritty cooled off before it gets into the chiller i have to get some fittings tomorrow then ill try it out

Damn, I've gotta see this once you've got it set up.

Got any pictures of the cooler now?

Uhh....depending on how the unit works, if the water that it pumps out is below ambient then rads will actually warm it up. So yeah....make sure that the water going into the rads isn't cold.
