I need to find something a bit bigger to do the same thing on because my notebook is 17", but running 3dmo6 with the 9800m GTS at 660/1650/899 and maxing out at 62c ain't bad. [2hrs of Crysis Warhead = ~70c with it]

That's funny looking, but if it works more power to you.

Looks like the plastic is starting to spider crack at the point where the fan is connected. Try applying some epoxy or rubber/silicon to prevent any.

I'm impressed, now lower my laptop temps with that design, but to 40celcius, and I think it won't burn out... (Currently bsod's at 55 c... oddly...)

, it is more than managable though]. I'm waiting for the P9700/T9900 to hit a major e-tail site so I can upgrade. The fan is a Thermaltake usb powered fan. http://www.xpcgear.com/thermaltake-a1888-usb-fan.html There is nothing in the hole. I was thinking of ripping apart a mini cooler, but that seemed a bit much. I could put a usb can cooler or a 2nd fan, but I don't see too much of a reason to as I only have 3 usb slots: 1 for the mouse, 1 for a usb drive and 1 for the Thermaltake in the homemade cooler.

Good job on the cooler. I was thinking about doing something similar for my wife. She never moves the thing (17" ACER AMD64-T55/7000M) so having something bigger doesn't matter.
I see you like to keep your HDD defragged because of both JK and IObit defrags. Let me give you some advice, though. I used to use IObit, but now I use JK because I have had two customers (1 laptop and 1 desktop) that have had IObit cause major file corruption where I needed to run chkdsk /r and fixboot to get them to boot. Even though I have never had a problem myself, I would be stupid not to learn from their mistakes.

I won't run that OC without the cooler. At idle, the ACPI is 6-7c cooler, the CPU is 7-8c cooler, the GPU [OC'd] is 4c cooler and the HDD is 11c cooler.

That 1GB of VRAM comes in handy!! Shame I listened to those who said I didn't need the 1GB versions of the 9600GT I got as I now know damn well I'd of seen a difference. I've heard the battery life is good for a gaming laptop, three hours or so with normal use. I alway play plugged in though so I have no first hand experience with it.
