Default 20 inch box fan

Ok this is the new thread. in case you are wondering because there is a thread that says 20 cm fans that is also by me, this is the real thread. I messed up the title.

Here is the link to the old thread.
http://www.overclock.net/cooling-exp...20cm-fans.html

Recently i got a 20 inch box fan for $10 so i decided to see if it could cool my computer. I am currently running a couple of baseline tests to compare the box fan to stock cooling.

All tests were done at 77f All temp readings came from speedfan(readings are in degrees C).

Here is the stock setup. 1 side intake (8cm) 1 exhaust (9cm) and 1 PSU

GPU 50
System 30
CPU 47
AUX 48
Hard Drive 33
Core 45

This is the next test with the extra intake fan. (9cm)

GPU 44
System 26
CPU 47
AUX 48
Hard Drive 33
Core 45

I still have to run two more tests. I will post those hopefully tonight.

Ive done this, It only dropped my temps 2c. Its not very efficient because all that air that you are pushing into the case has nowhere to go.

instead of pushing the air INTO the case. have the box fan SUCK the air , it will probably lower your temps more.

Where is it going to get the air from that it sucks out of the case? It has to pull air in from somewhere to push the air out correctly
