How would I add an 80 mm fan to a router? There are no accessible wires or anything, just the power in plug. Soldering my best bet?

What router?
I put a 60mm one in a Linksys WRT-54g. I soldered into the PCB's power input (it is 12v) and put some resistors to slow the speed down some so it was not so noisy.

I added VRAM sinks to my Netgear DG384GT which runs stupidly hot. It's not the best solution (a fan probably is) but it is the best visually cos I can even put the cover back on without it crashing now like it used to cos of heat.

not the same as a router but the same idea. i did this to my modem lol and just solder to the power in and calculate what resisters you need to drop the power to the fans specs.

it helped mine during high useage which caused it to overheat {belkins are bad about it} and it helped cause it was about 5~6 years old.
