Default Bong for Air cooling.

My question is, has anyone tried using an evap Bong chiller to cool a room or a house. IE: Pump the chilled water though a big Aluminum automobile A/C condenser core(smaller tubing big unit) And running a big box fan behind it To cool down a house or room? This could be a Power saving alternative to running An Air conditioner.... I think i am going to try this, Let me know what you think. Thoughts and ideas.

That has been used for centuries in the Middle East and India. Look up "Evaporative Cooling".

i have had swamp coolers in the past the problem is it causes to much moisture in the house. Thats why i was wondering about bong coolers because you can control were your moisture goes... IE: out the window

Good luck getting it to cool a large area. If you could convert it to BTU I would guess it's somewhere around 100 where as your standard window unit is 3,000+ at least.

A bong cooler takes heat from the air to evaporate the liquid. This leave humidity in cool air. If you blow the cool air into your house, you will also blow the humidity in.

Circulation is only dependant on your fans, and BTU is only dependant on how much water you're evaporating.

If i were to do it. It would consist of 5-10 evap towers and 1-2 Condenser cores. Even with 5-10 towers you are still in the 50watt range compared to 1kw for a 3kbtu window unit... Also a 3kbtu is ALOT... You dont need 3k BTU to cool a room unless its like 130F outside... i have a 1500BTU unit in my 500sqft room and it only actually runs the compressor ect 30% of the time.....

My idea was to cool the condensers with chilled water and then blow air though them making Cool air... *see img*

I live in louisiana... I have a 5,550 BTU and a 3,500 BTU working together to cool 250 sq ft at work.

They are both on high cool at the coolest setting and it's 78 in here.

Oh, hang on. Recirculating the post-evaporation water, which should be sub-ambient, through a radiator should let you blow cool air, while the humid (albeit cool) air gets blows outside. Slick.

Exactly. Question is, does it have the power to cool a larger area?
