Default Geothermal Cooling

I am planning on trying to use geothermal cooling for my CPU. I have compiled a list of other's threads on this:

It works.... but requires a lot of work.

Do you at least have watercooling experience?

I would think that cost would be prohibitive. Don't you need to drill several wells as part of the initial setup? And you'll need a lot of tubing/pipe. Sounds interesting, though.

Take pictures!

No water cooling experience. And yes, it won't be all that cheap... I think it's a neat concept and when I have some spare time I may experiment a little....

I was thinking about something more along the lines of just simply pumping water from through your CPU water block, down into the ground, and back to the CPU block in a closed loop fashion.

I heard of a guy who uses his old septic tank as a reservoir under ground, and runs a radiatorless loop, but I think you'd need a good pump...

Yes, that's geothermal cooling (as already stated).

LOL sorry. I was referring to the thread "the hole"... He has a much more elaborate setup than the one I am talking about... he has radiators incorporated...

If this is like the large military building mechanical systems that I have seen around virginia, then in this case the septic tank contents will be the heat sink and the water circulates in a closed loop to transfer heat to whatever liquid may still be in the septic tank.

I can't imagine why you would need radiators since the water/soil underground will be the heat sink. So, he buries radiators to make the heat transfer to underground more efficient? Or do you mean he uses some sort of hybrid system with fans+radiators to transfer some heat to the air at the surface and also the underground loop to transfer more heat underground?
