Default Using outside air to cool a rig?

Hey,

Has anyone tried (or know of anyone that has tried) funneling air from outside in the winter to cool a PC? My PC sits right under a window, and was wondering if it's worth piping air into my PC, then out the exhaust right out of the window. And if so, what results this yielded.

I was wondering if condensation could possibly be an issue, too.

Thanks for any info available.

I would be worried about the condensation, and that would need to be controlled. When my old gaming computer used to be at home I would occasionally open my window and stick my box fan in there. Idle temps on my e4400 where in the low teens and load temps were in the upper 30's Celsius. Winter is overclocking season

How could there be condensation if the entire PC is soaked in super cold air?

And yes, OP, search the Air Cooling Forum and the rest of this Forum and you should find MORE than enough results

lol

well if the outside air is way cooler then internal air yea it would work ok, too low and condensation would set in though. I think it would be easier just to open a window and let the room cool down.

Depends if the temperature of the air is close to the dewpoint.
