I'm also interested in seeing if it can be done, i have a Zalman CNPS8000 lying here unused but i only have the LGA775 bracket for it, i googled how to convert it to fit on a 478 socket but didn't find anything
Please let me know how you do it, if you do do it that is

My 2 cents: you'll probably have to remove the plastic holder that is on the sk 478 mobo and see how the holes are located. After that you have two choices: either can try to see if you can screw the sk775 bracket onto the sk 478 mobo (even if the screws would be a bit tilted, it should hold), or you can build/buy a bracket that is similar to you current sk775 bracket, but with the holes above the 478's.

The holes don't line up with the bracket, i've tried it before. You can twist it and turn it as much as you want but it's a no go

Honestly I dont think it will be sufficiant to cool a 478 since they produce more heat.

my old 478's cpu cooler is held down with cable ties for some reason, someone being lazy maybe?
ontopic you could take the bracket off your spare cooler and make your own out of acrylic or use cable ties

I remember someone else on OCN doing this, but I don't remember who or how he did it.
