Okay... EVERYONE knows a refrigerator cannot cool a PC. This got me to thinking though. The radiator is the key component in watercooling designs so what if you chilled the radiator?
I've been thinking about Peltier plates but I don't think that would get the job done. I was looking around the internet but I still haven't found anything that would work the way I want it to. ![]() Anyone think it would be possible to get a compressor small enough to encase the radiator in the cooling chamber and use the fans to blow away the heat? Strictly a conceptual design sure but I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't be feasible. It would probably be pretty big like 8"+ thick but we're talking some REALLY active cooling going on. Thoughts?

Same thing. The heat will make it run itself out of life!

perspiration along the components? that would be my worry.
Best idea would be a A/C unit just connected to a box that blows through the rad. Or a freezing air duct froma window if the outdoors get that cold lol

Redundant....
Either replace the radiator and make it phase cooling (assuming it is powerful enough and can be tuned) --OR-- Drop the radiator in water chilled by the unit and make a slush box. --OR-- Just get an AC unit.

I wouldn't think it would in an active water cooling setup. The liquid is already at ambient with the fans so chilling it down shouldn't bee too much of an issue I wouldn't think. Maybe over time the compressor would give out but you're not really overloading it just cooling a decently cooled item already.
I'm an electrical engineer... but I need a mechanical engineer that specializes in thermo. Anyone?

Persperation isn't really a concern. If water formed inside the sealed "fridge" then it would just chill itself down and eventually turn into the frost you see inside a dorm fridge. The coolant is running through the radiator channels so even if the whole thing froze then it'd just be a radiator encased in ice. This may or may not be possible to achieve but its a nice little thought for the day. :P

Just get an AC unit... $100.

Yeah that might be the way to go. Just a random thought in my head but something I might play around with if I get really bored. AC would probably be easier since you are using phase changing to get the temps down. Just funnel the cold air onto the radiator. The radiator stays cool and chills the coolant as it goes through the channels.
