This will require a mini-fridge that isn't so mini. One of those that's roughly 3ft tall. The plan is to mount an 8,000 BTU window A/C Unit into the door of the fridge. This unit will blow air through a fanless radiator and will also need a cut out for the return air of the A/C Unit. The PC is fully water cooled, and within the fridge it is heavily insulated and temps should eventually get relatively cold. The only reason to use the fridge is for the size of insulated area - it has no reason to be plugged in. No worries of condensation, not cold enough to freeze as well. Just a funny thought I had lastnight before going to bed.

Interesting idea, but I can't quite put my finger on what's shouting at me from the back of my head... there's something inherently flawed here but I really can't figure out what it is.

Same here, hence the post. It's probably because I used the word Fridge in the title lol.

No, it's not that. I feel like there would be a risk of condensation despite the fridge, but I also feel like that's not the case.

And the A/C unit should remove humidity anyways. Take the temp sensor off the A/C and let it run down to 40F lol - I doubt it could get THAT cold but, there's always a possibility.

However the air conditioner will be dumping heat into the room the 'case' is located in. In winter this wont be a bad thing maybe. But think about when the weather changes and things get hot. edit: re. condensation. With his plan there is no risk of that due to 1. the entire enclosure would be cooled to the same temperature. and 2. the enclosure is heavily insulated. If this was not true then you would see condensation on the outside of refrigerators and freezers. You are should consider just putting that air conditioner into the window of the room the pc is in. That way there will not be heat dump into the room itself, and the computer's heat exchangers (either radiators or air coolers) will have very cool conditioned air to work with. If you want to maximize the conditioned air going into the heat exchangers, just run flexible ducting from the window unit to the air intake of the case (or if the radiators are external) or heat exchanger. In fact if you have an external radiator you could just mount it directly in front of the window unit, with the window unit blowing conditioned air into the radiator. The advantage of this is it would be cleaner looking than running flexible ducting to the pc case.

I wanna see someone do a loop with and A/C and a fridge.
Have your coolant pre-cooled by an A/C unit before it goes into the fridge to see if it lightens the load enough to keep the compressor from dying. Get something like 2 360 GTX's and use one with a shroud that links directly up to the vent for the A/C so you have the coldest possible A/C air blowing over the first radiator 24/7 and that cools the coolant low enough to let a fridge/freezer do the rest of the work and get it very cold. You could even port the A/C air to the rest of the computer once you have cooled the first radiator in the loop. Like this: ![]() If I can get my hands on an A/C unit I think I have a fridge I could use.
