Yeah, I haven't tried that yet, maybe I should go do it

It's also supposed to be waterproof for life, meaning you can keep it underwater for 10+ years and bring it back up and dry it out and it should work as well as it did before.

It does however, rip extremely easily. Not necessarily a bad thing, it makes cutting easy, but you could easily rip it apart with your hands if there is a cut started. Not brittle though.

Overall I'm quite pleased with it, my computer is quieter and I can't hear the pump now. I've still got more than 3sq ft of this stuff, so I gotta find more uses for it.

Keep in mind that this stuff is used in sound studios and similar for sound dampening. If you want noise dampening foam for your computer, this is the only smart way to go.

Thanks for the review Mootsfox. Yes it tears easily. I posted some tips about how I use it.

The main thing I would suggest is using a piece of paper to make a pattern and then use that to layout a cut on the foam. I cut from the backside with a razor...seems to work well enough.

I used some spray adhesive and that works great too--but it is really permanent--Velcro would be best (patches in the corners) if you want to remove it later without a mess.

I used pieces of card board to trace it out. For the pieces around the Tidewater they are actually holding each other up. It's bendy but firm so if you cut it a bit bigger you can use it's own pushy-ness to hold it. Although I like the Velcro idea for other pieces... I used a few dabs of hot glue to hold a piece on my door.
