Thumbs up Copper Tops for Apogee GTX Arrive!

The Copper Tops just arrived! Very drool-worthy IMHO.

Take a look

Here's what you do with this chunk of Cu

Nice

This one is mine

I am running a special on these soooo I believe I am offering a significantly lower price than anyone else at the moment.. If you have an Apogee GTX and want to customize it this is the part.

Alright CD... in your opinion, are these copper tops worth the cash? Besides looking a little sweeter then the aluminum top, is there really any reason to buy them? I know the old alum top doesn't mix well with the rest of the copper in your system, but they are supposed to be coated. How well does the coating look to you? Will it last a few months, years, forever? What's your opinion?

If you think it is worth it and give me enough reason to buy one... then go ahead and reserve one of those for me!!!

CD.... don't forget... these will work on any Apogee. It should fit on a vanilla, GT, or GTX. Using it on a GT will make the block a GTX.

Just for clarification about the designs:
Apogee = Old Base, Old Top
Apogee GT = New Base, Old Top
Apogee GTX = New Base, New Top

Copper GTX Top = New Top.

They should be interchangable but CD should be able to confirm.

It's special. I wonder if it will be offered foor very long. I think it's awesome--looks fantastic. I was never that happy about the aluminum top despite tjhe coating. But according to Gabe at Swiftech the coating is MilSpec and should last indefinitely. I have not had any issues with mine. Buy it anyway. It's gorgeous.

Thanks--thaat is so true. I do not have a GT in house and The old Apogee I do have is plumbed into the loop of LanDream--so I will not be taking that apart just to see. But I believe you are correct as the screw locations are all the same. The original Apogee has thesame flat base as the others so I cannot see why it would not make a good upgrade.

At this time I am out of stock on the GTX. I am awaiting a large PO from Swiftech. I would likely just discount the GTX and let the buyer decide.

I just measured the old Apogee and it is the same screw layout as far as I can tell.

Actually... come to think about it.... Swiftech only makes two bases for all of their recent GPU (two) and CPU blocks (three).

I like the looks of those, kind of like finned valve covers with a plenum in the middle...
