Default Hey CD, do you think it's possible..

To have a small hard drive mounting thingie (can be any material, plastic, acrylic, metal) that'll fit 5 drives in this case:

http://www.cluboverclocker.com/revie...cker/page2.htm

It's already loaded to the gills with 12 hard drives, but I need to put 5 more in
it does have a PSU in the bottom slot, otherwise there'd be plenty of space.

When I get the machine I'll take pictures, just checking w/ you in advance to see if there's anything you can do.

If 5 drives isn't possible, then something for 2 drives would be sufficient. (I need a drive to install the OS on, and a drive for a hot spare for the RAID, I'd like to also create another 3 drive mini-RAID). I'd like to mount it into my case w/ velcro, since I don't have the tools to drill holes in the case to screw anything in. One fan on the mini-enclosure would be nice if possible. The whole thing doesn't need to be anything fancy, just something cheap that'll hold drives in place

Thanks for taking a look

I wouldn't expect him to use a velcro mount for anything because it is somewhat unreliable. I mean you wouldn't want your hard drives to drop if you bump the case. I think the best solution would be to have an external case made to house the rest of the hard drives.

Well, I figured that it'd be something sitting at the bottom of the case anyway, I just don't want it sliding around.

The reason I'm saying velcro right now is because I don't intend to ship CD the case to have him mount it, since that would cost me like 100 bucks both ways (this thing weighs like 85 lbs, lol). So I just want something easy to mount

As far as an external case goes, that's somewhat tricky, because I need to route SATA cables in and power cables out in that case (And I can't use an eSATA port because I have to plug these into my RAID card which has only internal plugs)

I believe CD has indeed used velcro to mount someone's watercooling radiator, and of course, I'm open to suggestion, since he's the one that builds cases, not me

There's also a very good chance that I have to block other hard drives to put this little hard drive rack in, so I need to be able to take it out if I need to swap out a failed drive.

Yes Litlratt, however, I do not have room in my case for those. That's a 5 3.5" in 3 5.25" converter.

If I was building a brand new server, I'd probably use those, since it makes it a breeze to hot swap. However, I do believe all the hard drives in the current server will be attached by screws, so I don't want to buy anything expensive and nice for it. Just need a cheap bracket to hold things in place

Thx for the suggestion though, those things are the best if you're building from scratch.

Oh, and I'm not too concerned about how the thing looks, I've seen CD's work, and anything that he would feel acceptable to say he made would be more then enough quality for me

No argument there.
Questioning the quality of CD's work is idiocy.

No rush, the machine isn't even in my hands yet

Enjoy your holidays first, THEN worry about doing work is what I say

Oh, and do you require a deposit before beginning work? If that's the case, since this is a small project, I'd be more then happy to pay up front.
