Here a couple of shots of the progress...
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This is all just fiddling around to see how best to hide the cabling and so on. With the control panel, 2 DVDs, Remote Control, Drawer there are still 6 bays open. Pippen wants blue LED fans filling that up so I will put in a second, empty, HDD cage with an Identical ThermalTake 1225 .30A fan in there. The top rack of HDDs gets ventilated by a 90mm exhaust fan and the 140mm PSU intake fan so I think they will be in good shape...and routing the cabling will be less of a chore. To get the "stealth" mount of the lone HDD in the front I had to drill extra holes to secure the drive and a couple of access holes to route the cables. Any thought of mounting more than one drive was dashed by the design of the HDD cage/fan mount. The fan is literally slap up against the cage...and there not any room to mount a drive in the lower bay with it flipped around...as it is the fan has to go on after the drive is cabled. The tooless bay is restrictive as to how you can use/mount devices and short of bypassing it and removing it (like I did for QuakeMazer's build) you are pretty much boxed in to using the parts as intended... I considered mounting the fans on aluminum angle screwed to the bay...but the HDD adapters from Scythe I would normally use would mount the drives too far forward...and without heavily modifying the front panel I could see no way to use them. SO I went back to mounting the fan(s) on the the HDD Cage(s) which allows for the Armor tooless drive system to be used without modification. The LightScribe SATA DVD burners should be here in a few hours according to NewEgg tracking. At that point I can get definite distances for the 5 SATA cable runs and place an order at Performance-PCs for them. I still have a few things I can do...thanks to Syrillian I have a lot of "free" blue Acryilic on hand and am thinking about dressing up the interior in 1/8" Opaque Royal Blue

Nice job CD looking good. Exackly what are you going to be doing with the Acrylic. What cooler are you planning to use for this build? It would be cool if you could find one of those side intake fans the 240mm one in blue. That would be REDIC

Okay I made some panels.
The panels inside are opaque and the panel on the window is transparent but they are the same exact shade ![]() The floor panel is secured with velcro. The panel beside the motherboard is secured by two screws and the wee bitsy panel on the back of the drawer is held by Velcro and the panel that is on the window is held in place hy HyperNeutronic Force Fields...or maybe just friction ![]() Take a look: ![]() ![]() ![]() Remember the motherboard covers that bare area.... ![]() ![]() Drives and controler in place. ![]() This will make more sense in place ![]() Shazaaam! Instant custom Armor. ![]() It takes your eye off those "lovely" tool-less bay things and matches the interior perfectly. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It's starting to take shape... ![]() ![]() ![]() Sorry about the blur...the HyperNeutronium Forcefield is messing up my camera... The panel is easily removed once the forcefeild has been deactivated...so if it's not your cup of tea a change is possible in just a few moments. It's a painless mod and one that would work on any Armor type case.

Regarding the large fan.
I think that once I light up the motherboard from inside it might be fine the way it is...but ThermalTake did provide little "ports" to receive LEDs...it would be simple enough to wires up Blue LEDs to illuminate the transparent fan. ] But first I am going to do some lighting effects inside the case that I believe will make that superfluous...not that superfluous modification is a bad thing

That looks interestingly cool. Question though....Wont the blue panels take away from the blue leds when lit up? I guess we'll have to put it all together and see, huh?
