Scarring Your Psyche

I would like to be playing around in the shop but the Wife is bookhunting. But since it is currently 25F and I have a nasty head cold it's probably good that I am trapped in the house.
The rods I got supposedly would edge join the two flanges--might look a little lumpy inside...but the outside would look the same. And then I could do the same to the corners...it's still more work than folding sheet. Thanks!

I guess I would have to try it and see.
I imagine I would take a strip that is long enough to make the four sides of the shroud and trim the edges and punch holes for the fans and bend them in a brake...although a pair of glassman's pliers would work I suppose. Then bend the four corners and join it with a weld or brazed joint. If you had a way to make a number of blanks precisely without a lot of tedious jigsaw work and file work and drilling etc etc it might be feasible to make them cheap enough to sell. But to individually layout and cut and file and drill and then use pliers or w/e to try and make professional looking folds...seems like a real PITA.

I'll take a closer look at the pictures from home CD and see what i can brainstorm. Making the tools you have work, is what i learned growing up around a bunch of rednecks using 50 year old tools passed through the family
.... ((no picutres at work has me a little in the dark)).

A relatively small sheet metal brake would come in handy for a lot of things I make out of acrylic now...brackets and shelves and mounts...
Metal is very intriguing...probably because I have never spent much time messing with it.
