I look at it this way- It was either the hundreds in leather clothing or it's like sitting down naked on 50 grit sandpaper going 40 MPH. At any rate, I'm glad you came out (as opposed to what could have happened) relatively unscathed. +1 for wearing proper riding protection, my friend

I'll build a box 11" square to the Inside dimension that will leave 3/4" all around for return. I'll use some acrylic blocks at the corners of the box to hold the base a couple os inches of the bottom of the box. I'll make a tapped port plate from 1/4", drill a hole in the base at the center and glue the tapped port plate to the base. I'll do the same out of 1/2" for the side of the box and tap the box for a barb and glue the 1/2" port plate over that and have a barb to barb connection for the supply to the volcano. I'll drill another port near that for the exit. And that will complete the plumbing.
Then I will make the top so it is removable in case the unit ever needs to be serviced and leave enough length on the tube to lift the base up and free it from the barb. The final step will be to make some strips of black acrylic to hide the pond. These will be an 1" or so over wide to make a space below the reservoir for the lights.
