This user purchased this item from Newegg.com

Pros: Excellent drive. I build high end gaming rigs and usually stick with Raptors or Seagate .10 or .11 drives...these are easily faster than my Seagates and almost as fast as my Raptors. Barely get warm: much cooler than comparable drives. Cannot hear them at all in my LL V2000. No issues at all.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Why is it that some reviewers give this drive 4 stars because it takes a long time to format? That makes no sense. Would you give a 1TB drive 3 stars then? Take these reviews with a grain of salt. My guess is at least half of them are written by people that have not a clue about PC HW. Glad I took a gamble and tried the Hitachis.

Deskstar isn't that bad. Before early 2002, all our servers and desktops were using IBM Deskstar. I don't know why we dropped it and use WD after 2004. I still have a 160GB hd on one of my office machine. They works great.
