Well it was actually because I had it set to 1T instead of 2T.

would you happen to know the difference?

I have a AMD 5000 Black Edition. I have not adjusted the voltage for the CPU I just upped the multiplier to 14.5.

System appears to run stable unless I run the stress test on the unit. If I run the stress test then the PC shutsdown in under 5mins due to CPU heat.

Can anyone give me some tips to maybe have it more stable as I'm new to overclocking.

Fill in your system specs in "User CP" > "Add System" that way we can help you out more. What CPU Cooler are you using? How much TIM have you applied? Those are all questions that need to be answered in order to determine what is causing your heat issues.

Thanks

OK, I entered my specs. I have actually set the CPU to default values and the system overheats still.

I have an Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 LP.

http://www.arcticcooling.com/cpu2.php?idx=129&disc=

The issue I have with the CPU fan is I don't know if it is properly installed as it is one that screws down. It is not the clip style that comes with the standard AM2 fan. Do I screw it as tight as possible? I don't want to break the motherboard...

How much Thermal Paste are you using? The fact that it might not be tightened down properly could be the reason why its overheating.

I applied a thin layer to both the CPU and the FAN.

I may just end up getting a different heatsink as I don't know when it is tight enough. I emailed Arctic Cooling to see if i can get any info...
