Program Category: Benchmarking
![]() 3Dmark01 SE Pro (Build 3.3.0) is one of the many benchmark applications used to compare how your videocard would perform in games. This is a perfect application to test any older computers whose videocards have DirectX7 capability. Most of today's games use DirectX9; thus, newer benchmarks of the 3Dmark series have gained popularity. Even though, Futuremark has ended their support with this particular benchmark, it is still vastly used by thousands to compare with. Publisher: www.futuremark.com ![]()

3DMark 2001SE is still very useful for testing the relative difference between various CPU and memory settings.

3Dmark06 requires that you have a dx9 video card. If you don't have one, an older version of 3dmark (like 01) is still useful...
Like posted above, 01 is more sensitive at memory settings/timings and various ram dividers. Because of the ridiculously huge score you get with 3dmark01 with todays computers, there is a bigger, more obvious difference in visualizing what is a better setting for your overclock...
