Will this benefit the Downloads Section
I have created Overclock.net's Downloads View Count in the hopes of giving members/guests a better understanding of which programs get the most views per month.

Sure, I think it will benefit the Downloads Section. A guest/member will be able to view a large list of all the popular programs and it will save time for them having to search for the most popular ones.

Its good for n00bs like me. Software that tends to give favorable results will probably be downloaded more than software that gives poorer results.

I have updated the graphs and will make the necessary changes if new programs are added. I plan on updating this once a month, in order to see a significant change in each threads view count
As you can see from the graphs the "Old View Count" was recorded (24/02/08) and the "New View Count" as of today there wasn't much change. I have decided to keep a monthly record of the thread count views. This way members and guests can see the activity of each program and choose based on that which is being viewed the most within the given time frame of a month. I believe that once we get a few months recorded that it will show which programs are the most popular on overclock.net. Regardless of their total thread view count we will be able to see which programs are being viewed the most. This will give newer programs a chance to show how popular they truly are in the Downloads Section. Thanks for taking the time to read through this
