I know that google has limited unit conversion capabilities and onlineconversion.com has any conversion you could think of; however, these tools are only available on computers with an active internet connection. The tool provided here is very useful for computers that are not connected to the internet such as a shop/garage computer where it may be impractical to hardwire a network connection and/or is out of range of a wireless network.

This was submitted by ericeod and since there are likely quite a few people who can make good use of it we are hosting it here for the community.
