So what if you bought a few bottles of 99% Rubbing Alcohol (Ethanol) that has a freezing point of about -110 C or Antifreez and just add dry ice or normal ice to it until it becomes really cold? Kinda like the idea of normal ice + salt but better?
__________________Would't this be a good way of getting something cheap and about half as effective as liquid nitrogen?

dry ice is pretty cheap and you can make a pot for about 15 bucks

YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE. I heard Ford is coming out with heated bumpers in 2010 so your hands don not get cold while pushing it.

get a 2-2.5" diameter pipe about 20cm in length and brase a endcap on, there you have a cheap DICE pot

Dry ice isn't liquid... So to cool the CPU you would need to cut and trim the sides and edges to fit on the CPU. The poor mans liquid nitrogen I've seen before and made before for fun. And that stuff is very sticky, so cleaning it would be a nightmare.

You still use a pot for DICE...
