Board must be cold bugged, or the chip. I insulated the crap out of this thing. Like WAY over the top. Got into windows @ 5.7 and validated. Then when I restarted it would not post even with the same settings. The temp was still above -10 for the first boot. But was well below -40 for the second. Too bad I can't control the temps.

Nice I wouldn't be surprised if it's the chip.. P4 weren't made with the same quality as new CPUs plus that chip has probably had a long and HOT life.

maybe you control temps by adding some alcohol or vinegar to the pot?

So nedless to say i am pretty mad as intel is jipping my friend of his nanometers, so now his cpu will not be as good as my q6600, which is bad. Intel used to give people like a whole 130 nanometers but lately they are being very stingy and are not giving us their nanometers so our cpu's are not as good.

It sounds to me like you might have a tiny drop of water in your socket...did you pack the socket with grease? Ira complains about having to blow out a drip from time to time or he wont post. Might want to ask him and see what he thinks it might be.

I did not use grease in the socket. Maybe I should have. I was informed that if the socket is airtight, it does not need to be greased. Shamino I think said for DICE benching, you can bench all day without needing grease, but for 24\7 it needs to be done. I can't even post after 5 min

Everything else is so insulated it's not even funny.

Neither of my other boards support the P4's
I can probably do better with my TRUE outside tonight than with DICE.

What I am thinking, is dry it all out and warm it up again. Post into windows with 1.75v and @ 5.2Ghz. Then so I don't have to reboot, use setFSB or clockgen to go further. What do you guys think?
