Looking for where to buy neoprene, or an alternative. Open to suggestions for alternatives to this, but we'd prefer stuff that is easier to CLEAN. Sorry if this is a generally simple thing to find, we just haven't looked into it a whole lot and figured we'd ask you guys where you think we could find it. This will be for a DICE run, by the way.

Danger Den has it..Neoprene ..I find it on eBay cheap at times to.
A lot of guys just use kneadable eraser for dice. You might be able to find some Armaflex locally, its a pipe wrap.

I've got enough eraser... I just thought you needed neoprene on-top of the eraser layer.

I just used some folded up paper towels on top of my eraser, the eraser was built up level wit the top of the chip. You should have a piece of neoprene cut out to go around the end of your pot and the top of the chip. Don't grease it, I did and the eraser started sliming out on me. I don't like the eraser at all. I'd rather just use conformal or liquid tape neoprene and grease. I grease the sockets to. I put a piece of thin greased neoprene between my back plate and mobo. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I use the eraser method, and also I use FrostKing insulation. The erasers have to be built up to the same level as the CPU if you are going to run without neoprene. That way the neoprene from your pot will seal down to the eraser.

McMaster has all types of neoprene sheets, tubing, thickness and sizes. They also have other alternatives. Kneaded eraser you can find at hobby lobby. I chose to use spray-on electrical tape as I hated working with the eraser. The spray on was a permanent thing for me and all I had to do was use neoprene on top of it. The spray can come off if you like, just takes a lil more work than what the eraser would.

Superb! Thank you guys for all the info, now we both (ToaD and I) have am uch better idea of how we are to do this! We'll give you guys an update when we actually do it, we will be starting a thread when we get to the build, there's already a thread saying we will be doing it, if any of you are interested in seeing more.

What about plastic dip instead of conformal? How hard is any of this to get off to send back for RMA if needed?
Thanks
