Thanks. I'm sure I'll have a manual tomorrow. I'll take a look. I'd hate to attach this thing and it be set for some way high pressure and I blow myself into ln2 chunks!

It would be a cool way to go out though.

wuttz on your wd is there a way to dial in pressure?
I just filled my dewar and installed my TW LWD. Can't dial in pressure with it. It supposedly self generates up to 10psi just by LN2 evap within the dewar. It has 1 safety valve that releases at 10 psi. There's another one that releases at 15psi if the first fails.

1 psi is enough to get a reasonable amount of fluid through the phase separator. (enough for ice cream. yum).

After 2 hours it's up to about 2.5 psi right now.

Yours should come with a manual. If it doesn't, give me a pm and I'll scan you mine (4 pages).

Have some silicone grease handy for the o-ring.

It was surprisingly hard to find for me. Big box hardware stores and auto stores had none and had no idea what I was even talking about. Finally found some at a mom and pop ACE hardware in plumbing section.

good tips patch, i think you can regulate the LN2 outflow by using the vent lever if the pressure inside is too high. the more pressure=faster LN2 flow. and i think 1 psi is indeed safest. i also read that the L in the spout (in my LWD) is for refilling, so that the transfer hose wont break under pressure.

i found this taylor wharton manual online just a while ago.

TW LWD PDF MANUAL

im still learning on the fly..

think some vasoline would work instead of the silicone grease? What I'm really worried about is building up over max pressure while i'm not here since I can't monitor the dewar constantly. I'm going to install the withdrawal device tonight

aren't there 2 safety device on those that release the pressure at two different levels JIC. And Vaseline will work fine.

I would avoid vaseline or any other petroleum based products. High pressure gases don't go well with petroleum lubricants. I think the biggest problem is oxygen gas under pressure = boom. The amount of oxygen you'll get in the tank will be minimal and probably be fine, but I wouldn't risk it.

My tank was at 2 psi last night after benching and had built up to 5 psi about 5 hours later when I left for work. It has 2 built in release valves. One that opens at 10psi and one that opens at 15 psi.
